Obituary

Irene Hossfeld, 95, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Millstone. She was born in Jersey City, spent her formative years in Teaneck, and raised her family in Paramus before relocating to Newtown, Connecticut. Together with her husband and children, Irene resided in Baldwinsville, NY, Marlboro, NJ, and Manchester, NJ prior to their retirement in Walnut Creek, NC. She later moved to be with her son in Beaufort, NC and finally moved to Spring Hill, Florida, where she enjoyed many fulfilling years.

Irene had a career in Retail Management and retired from Macy's. She appreciated outdoor activities such as golf and bocci ball and also took pleasure in playing bridge and dominos. A devout Catholic, Irene valued family above all and was a cherished and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Daughter of the late James and Margaret Van Norman, she was predeceased by her brother, James Van Norman, her husband Herbert, her son-in-law, Patrick Moloney, and her grandson, Steven Hossfeld. Irene is survived by her children, Cynthia Moloney, Deborah and Michael Kenny, Steven and Sylvia Hossfeld, Kathleen and Thomas Hart, and David and Amy Hossfeld and her grandchildren, James Moloney, Kaitlin DePartee, John Michael Kenny, Rebecca, Megan, Michael, and Matthew Hart, and Mitchell and Hailey Hossfeld. She was Queen Nanny to her beloved great grandchildren, Aiden, John Michael, Miles, Mia, and Tommy.

Services were private with the burial in the family plot in Paramus.
