Irene M. Chappell, 86, of Hightstown, passed away Friday, January 23, at Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton. Born on a farm on Hightstown-Princeton Rd., she had lived in the area most of her life, including 39 years in Allentown, NJ with short stays in Ft. Myers and Avon Park. FL. She had worked as a secretary for DeLaval of Trenton, RCA of Hightstown, United Telephone of Ft. Myers, FL. and finally as an administrative assistant, member and Sunday School teacher of The First Baptist Church of Hightstown.
Wife of the late William ""Zeke"" G. Chappell and mother of the late Ronald G. Chappell, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas W. and Dolores Chappell and Dennis W. Chappell, both of Bordentown Twp., Raymond G. and Cindy Chappell of Chapel Hill, NC and daughter-in-law, Beata Chappell of Groveville. A brother and sister-in-law, Nelson and Jean Mount of Grants Pass, OR. A sister-in-law Mrs. Louise Barrata of South Brunswick NJ. four grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Carr and her husband Robert of Mt. Holly, Lisa Rene Chappell of Hightstown and Helen and Jim Chappell of Chapel Hill, NC. and three great granddaughters Anastasia Beideman and Alexandria and Breanna Carr. As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Thursday, January 29 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ. Friends may call from 10 am until time of service.
