Ian Varty, 52, of Allentown passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at his home. Born in Whitehaven, England, he moved to the US in 2013. Ian was a Culinary School graduate and worked as a chef at DiMattia's Restaurant in Allentown. Ian was dedicated to his family and his work but in his free time he enjoyed going to Popcorn Park Zoo, spending time at Jenkinson's in Point Pleasant Beach. He was also an avid Liverpool Football Club fan.

Ian is survived by his wife, Melissa Varty; his parents, Brian and Julie Varty; his stepchildren, Rachel Hamlin and her husband, Michael, Evan Thomas, and Eric Thomas; his granddaughter, Olivia Hamlin and his siblings, David Varty and his wife, Sharon and Tracy Dunn. Ian is also survived by his parents-in-law, Janice and Bill Compitello; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gina and Seth Cargiuolo and Alicia and Barry Gumski as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, both in the US and in England.

A celebration of Ian's life will be held Sunday, August 1 ^st from 2-4pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Being that Ian was a casual "jeans and t-shirt" guy, please dress in casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ian's name to Popcorn Park Animal Refuge, PO Box 43, Forked River, NJ 08731. Donations to the family will also be accepted.
