Obituary

Hubert L. Platt "Luke", 94 of Cream Ridge, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his home. Born in Bordentown, he was a longtime resident of the area before moving to Florida and later to Cream Ridge. A WWII Navy Veteran, Luke retired in 1981 from the NJ Turnpike Authority. He was a life member of the Bordentown Elks, Lodge #2085, an exempt member of the Hope Hose Humane Co. # 1 of Bordentown and a member of the American Legion Post # 0026 of Plant City, FL. Luke actively enjoyed life, spending time with his family, dancing, playing golf and traveling with his wife.

Son of the late Charles and Jane Platt, he was predeceased by his six siblings and his son-in-law, William Donnelly. Luke is survived by his loving wife of 71years, Joan Stevens Platt; his daughter, Cynthia Donnelly of Cream Ridge; his grandchildren, Ethan and his wife, Tracy Taylor, Owen Taylor and Ashlie Taylor and his great grandson, Kyle. Through a blended family, Luke is also survived by grandchildren, Linda and Joe Ialacci, Kathy and Vlad Kanterman and Bill and Kathleen Donnelly and great grandchildren, Jocelyn and Dean Ialacci and Alyse and Justin Kanterman. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Nana for her loving and faithful care over the years and to the staff at Barnabas Hospice for the compassion, comfort and support they have provided Luke in his last days.

Funeral service will be held 12pm on Wednesday, August 12th at Allentown United Methodist Church, 23 Church St. Allentown. Friends may call Wednesday 11am until the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hose Humane Co. # 1, 150 West Burlington St. Bordentown, NJ 08515. Arrangements under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
