Obituary

Herman F. Ashley, 82, of Hamilton Square, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton.  Born in Sassafras, KY, he was a lifetime Hamilton area resident.  Herman retired as a Staff Sergeant from the US Air Force after 21 years of service.  He then went to work for Heath and Wildblood Tire Co. in Hamilton for 18 years and later retired from Broneger News Co. in Trenton where he worked for 14 years.  Herman was a devoted husband and a great father and friend.  He was very active in his children and grandchildren's lives and was known as the neighborhood dad.

Son of the late John and Norma Jean Ashley, he was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Margaret A. Ashley; his son-in-law, Dennis Ragolia and his former daughter-in-law, Dee Ashley .  Herman is survived by five children, John ""Bob"" Ashley, Herman Ashley and his wife Maria, Barbara Ragolia, Doug Ashley his girlfriend, Christine Tappen and Scott Ashley and his wife Rose; his grandchildren, Kelly, Shawn, Justin, Wilmarie, Christina, Dennis, Anthony, Joey, Bobby, Denise, Douglas, Nicole, Alycia, Jasmine and Kelly; a great grandson Skylar as well as his former daughter-law, Angela Ashley.

Funeral Service will be held 12:30pm on Friday, July 27 th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.  Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery.  Friends may call Friday from 10:30am until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3076 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
