Obituary

Henry S. Imp, 93, of Toms River, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville. Born in New York City, Henry was a WWII Navy veteran and upon discharge from the Navy, started a specialty machine shop in Astoria. He sold his business while in his mid-fifties and he resumed and perfected his woodcarving hobby. His imagination and talent enabled him to carve everything from church doors, carousel horses, figurines, birds, etc. Additionally, he was a talented carpenter & electrician, and was forever working on one household project or another.

Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was hardworking, intelligent, and his dedication to "doing the right thing", was beyond compare. He always made family and friends the first priority in his life. We all were better people by the example he set.

Son of the late Frank and Theresa Imp, he was predeceased by his siblings, Frank, John, Helen, Frances, Theresa, Marie and Dolores. Henry is survived by his wife of 68 years Mary Lou; his son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Barbara Imp; his daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Ted Suarez, his brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Catherine Imp and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Carol Mund. In addition, he was blessed with five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 9th at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville.
