Helen W. Major

Helen West Major, 92 of Jacobstown passed away Sunday, July 10, 2026 at her home. Born in Lawrence Township, she graduated from Princeton High School in 1952 and went on to receive a BA in Accounting from Rider College. She worked side by side with her husband on the family farm. A longtime member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church, Helen was also a member of Lawrenceville Grange and later the Hamilton Grange. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed traveling around the country in their 1930 Model A Ford.

Daughter of the late Eden and Ada West she was predeceased by her siblings, William West, Edna Hawley, and Arthur West. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, Robert Major; her son and daughter-in-law, David W. and Elizabeth Major; her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Robert Poling; her grandchildren, Andrew Major and his wife Rebecca, Abigail Major, Andrea Kuzanchy and her husband Karl, Ryan Poling and his fiancée Nicole Motus, and Patrick Poling; her great grandchildren, Jameson Kazanchy, Julian Kazanchy and Sophia Cosentino as well as many nieces and nephews. 

A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, July 18th from 10-11 at the Chesterfield Baptist Church, Chesterfield, NJ. Funeral service will begin at 11am at the church. Interment will follow in Jacobstown School Cemetery. The family request no flowers. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the Chesterfield Baptist Church, 209 Matthews Lane, Chesterfield, NJ 08515.
