Helen Horner Griner, 103, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the Masonic Village at Burlington. Born in North Hanover Township, NJ, she had lived in Bordentown prior to moving to Columbus over 13 years ago. She was a buyer in the children's department at Nevius-Voorhees Department Store in Trenton for many years and retired from Dolton's Pharmacy in Bordentown.
Helen was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Bordentown for 88 years, where she also taught Sunday School, was a member of the Bordentown Chapter #257 O.E.S. for over 50 years, the Rebecca Lodge of Burlington, the Peppy Pals of Florence, NJ and was a Girl Scout Den Mother for many years. Helen's family was very important to her and she will be deeply missed.
Predeceased by her parents George and Estella Carter, her husbands: George A. Horner and Joseph W. Griner, her sisters: Margie Weisgarber and Ruth Hyde and her beloved grand-daughter: Sherry Lynn Bolton, she is survived by her daughter: Shirley Stevenson and her husband Calvin of Edgewater Park, NJ, her grandson: Jeffrey S. Stevenson, great grandchildren: Stephanie Jernigan and Shawn Bolton(Barbie), great-great grandchildren: Liam, D.J., Ethan, Abby and Wyatt and a dear special friend: Margaret Griner.
Interment will be private at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinaminson, NJ. Donations may be made in Helen's name to Acacia Hospice, 902 Jacksonville Rd, Burlington, NJ 08016. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown, NJ. Due to the present situation regarding the pandemic, a memorial service will be celebrated at a later date.
