Obituary

Harry J. Ervin Sr., 67, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, at the Compassionate Care Hospice, at St. Francis, in Trenton. Born on a farm in Robbinsville, Harry spent a number of his adult years in Trenton, before moving into Hamilton Township, where he had lived for the last twenty-five years. He was known to most as the Store Manager of Quick Chek, on Broad Street in Trenton, having worked for the company for thirty five years and at that location for many of them. Harry made many friends of his customers and truly regretted having to retire due to health reasons a few years ago.

A die hard patriot, he had a deep respect and admiration of all things military, and enjoyed reading on the subject and traveling to a number of military themed museums around the country. Beyond military subjects, Harry was a fan of Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot novels, the Highlander television series, and horror movies. A firearms enthusiast, he enjoyed shooting late into life, and hoped to pass that love onto his grandchildren.

Son of the late George and Gladys Ervin, and one of nine children, Harry's passing will be mourned by his brothers and sisters, his many nieces and nephews, his only son and daughter in law, Harry J. Jr. and Anne Ervin, and his three grandchildren who meant the world to him, Harry J. III, Sterling Dale and Gyllian Anne Ervin.

Funeral Services will be held 8:45 PM, Thursday, October 14, at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., in Bordentown. Friends and family may call from 7:00 PM until the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made in Harry's name to Autism Speaks, 5455 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 2250, Los Angeles, Ca. 90036.
