Harry W. Apel Jr., 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Jackson Heights, NY, he was raised in Syosset and had lived in Plainview, Long Island, Pearl River and Upper Saddle River, NJ before moving to Allentown, NJ. Harry was an Army Veteran, received a master’s degree and retired as a senior analyst for IBM after 32 years. He was very active in the Four Season’s community and enjoyed playing tennis and listening to classical music. He will be deeply missed.

Predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mary Apel, Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Ines L. Apel; his daughters, Bethany A. Apel of Upper Saddle River, NJ and Leslie A. Kirby of Pittsburgh, PA.

Services will be held 3 pm Wednesday, January 7 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St, Allentown, NJ. Friends may call on the family from 1 pm until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
