Obituary

Harrison E. Rockhill , 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly Township with his family by his side. Born in Trenton, he spent his childhood in Bordentown, and made his life with his wife and children in Roebling, New Jersey. He was a graduate of William MacFarland High School Class of 1961 and was a United States Marine Corps Veteran during the Vietnam War.

Harrison retired from Bell Telephone after 32 years and went on to work for Hertz Rental Car for another 28 years. He was a member and twice Commander of the American Legion Post #194 of Florence, and a member of the Moose Lodge of Mount Holly and the Bordentown Elks Lodge # 2085. He enjoyed watching college football and especially rooted for Notre Dame. He was a Phillies and Eagles fan, and also enjoyed golfing with his nephews and lunch with his friends. He was very close to his family, his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and will be deeply missed.

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth Rockhill and all of his siblings, he is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Dianne J. Rockhill, his daughters: Cheri Garwood and her husband Jeffrey and Berniece DiIorio and her husband Christopher. His grandchildren: Drew Garwood, Paige Garwood and her husband Peri Rodriguez and Christian Rockhill and fiancé Daniel Byrne.

Graveside services for Harrison will be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown, NJ.
