Harriet F. Portrude, 90, of East Windsor, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Princeton Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, HI, she was a long time East Windsor resident. Harriet, along with her husband, Bill, started their printing business Harwill Express Press in 1973 in Hightstown / East Windsor. She loved her business and the employees, which whom she considered her family. She loved traveling and going on cruises and regretted not making it to Antarctica. A member of the "Gin and Tonic Club" she will be missed by all her friends at Meadow Lakes.
Daughter of the late Leslie and Alice Fletcher and wife of the late William P. Portrude, Harriet was predeceased by her brother Allen Fletcher. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christina P. and Mark W. Ravera of Chatham; her son, Steven Portrude and his spouse, Julie Sweetland, of Bucks County, PA; three grandchildren, Alexander Ravera of New York City and Nicole and Katherine Portrude of East Windsor; two sisters, Elizabeth "Betsy" Adams of Southern Pines, NC and Margaret "Peggy" Grinder of North Wilmington, MA., as well as many other family and friends.
The family will be celebrating the life of Harriet on Tuesday, August 6 th from 4-7pm at the Cranbury Inn in Cranbury, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
