Griffith H. Lloyd, Jr.

Griffith H. Lloyd, Jr., 91, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Virtua, Mt. Holly. Born in Edwardsville, PA, he grew up in East Stroudsburg, PA, moved to Trenton in 1951 and later to the Masonic Home in Burlington in 2006. A US Air Force veteran serving in the South Pacific during WWII, Griffith worked as an automobile mechanic for Alexander and McCormick Lincoln Mercury before retiring from Keats Ford in 1987 after 35 years of service.

He was active in the Masonic community, serving as a life member of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Central Jersey; a member of the Trenton Cyrus Lodge # 5, F.&A.M; Three times Three, Chapter #5, York Rite; Palestine Commandary # 4; Trenton Forest # 4, Tall Cedars; Crescent Shrine and Victory Chapter # 96 OES. Griffith also served as a member of the High Twelve, the Square Club and a volunteer at the Masonic Home. He was a life member of the VFW Post #7298 and a former member of the Busy C's Senior Citizens Club and Trinity United Methodist Church, both of Ewing.

Son of the late Griffith H. and Beatrice Tanner Lloyd, he was predeceased by his daughter, Sandra R. Lloyd who passed on Dec. 24, 2015 and his sister, Jean Robbins. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Alice Jean Lloyd; his daughter and son-in-law, Janet L. and Donald R. Garay of Ewing; his grandchildren, Daniel Garay and his wife Melinda of Ewing and Timothy Garay and his wife Rachel of Philadelphia and his great-granddaughter, Kalani of Ewing; his sister, Mary Hunt of Philadelphia as well as nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 24 at 2 pm at the Masonic Home Chapel, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington, with Masonic Services first then the Memorial Service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or the Masonic Home of NJ. Arrangements under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown.
