Gregory Fernandez, 30, of Allentown, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, June 27th, 2023. Born in Princeton, NJ, he was empathetic, whip smart, charming, loyal, and kind. Greg's heart overflowed with love for the people around him. There was nothing quite like the spark of pride that would light in his eyes when he would talk about the strength and love of his mother, Valerie, the talent of his older brother, Keith, his caring sister-in-law Alyse, his beautiful new niece, Scarlett, spending special times in Florida with his dad, Charlie and stepmom, Lisa, or the rest of his family.  As a kid, Greg spent almost every weekend with his cousins playing every sport under the sun (and making up new ones), always singing, always dancing, and cracking each other up with inside jokes.  Throughout life, he remained an avid sports fan and loved digesting that day's sports news and statistics.

Greg felt more than most and fought a long, devastating battle with a disease he did not deserve. Through it all, though, he always made time to check in with others, celebrate with them, lift them up, or to just let them know that he was thinking about them.  Recently, we were blessed to spend time with Greg on a visit to New Jersey. It was time spent connecting with his new niece and visiting both of his grandparents whom he adored and who treasured him in return. We got to spend time together reliving happy memories and making new ones - relaxing together watching sports, talking the night away, and laughing until we cried.

Gone from this earth far too soon, Greg was pre-deceased by his Tupa and Nana, Diana and Fred Fernandez. He is survived by his mother, Valerie Fernandez (Bob Welsh), father, Charlie Fernandez (Lisa Jewell), grandparents, Fred and Rose Marie Pisani, his brother, Keith Fernandez and his lovely wife Alyse and their daughter, Scarlett, and his aunts, uncles, and cousins who will always miss the sparkle of light in the eyes of their favorite Jets fan.

A viewing will be held Thursday, July 6th from 5-8pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown, NJ.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Friday, July 7th at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown, NJ.  Interment will follow in Allentown Cemetery, Broad and Hamilton Streets, Allentown, NJ.
