Gordon M. Jonas, 55, of Allentown, NJ abruptly passed away earlier this week. Gordon is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Ellsworth Jonas and their three sons and a daughter-in-law; Gordon R. (Erica), Joseph and Daniel. He is the son of Gordon Q. Jonas, M.D. and the late Norma Dittner Jonas.
Gordon was a Director in the Supplier Development Organization at Merck, traveling around the world implementing and training others in continuous improvement methodologies. His "tough love" teaching style made him universally beloved and respected by his many mentees. In his spare time, Gordon competed in small-bore rifle shooting at a national level and coached a junior team. Proudly, next year he will have one of his junior shooters competing for the Army, Navy and Air Force Academies. Gordon had his own distinguished military career, having served four years of active duty in the Army and seventeen combined years in the Connecticut National Guard and Army Reserve before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
