Obituary

Gloria Nicholson was born October 3, 1930 and on January 19, 2021 the year of our Lord Jesus Christ our aunt, Gloria Nicholson joined her predeceased husbands, William Nicholson and Randal Dammers in heaven to spend eternal life together. Waiting in heaven for her homecoming are her parents, grandparents, sisters, and brothers. Gloria is survived by her nieces and nephews.

Aunt Gloria retired from Johnson & Johnson where she worked in the personal products division. Church was very important to her. She belonged to Miller Memorial Church of Monmouth Junction where she served in many capacities; as deacon and singing in the choir, among others. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening and looked forward to spring so she could sit outside under the "tent" with her family, drinking her coffee and watching her perennials pop up after a long winter. Inside she enjoyed her orchids. Besides gardening, she was quite the artist, painting holiday ornaments for her snow-white tree that she kept appropriately decorated for the holidays. Of course, she didn't forget her family and made sure she hand-painted ornaments for them as well. Most recently she was painting outside cement ornamental sculptures such as animals, frogs, etc. Besides gardening, Aunt Gloria, her husband, and their friends enjoyed traveling around the globe; bringing back treasures for her nieces and nephews who were her world! She stayed engaged with her family through Marco Polo and Facebook, where you could find photos of her dining and on outings with her family. Aunt Gloria moved to Allentown to live with her great niece, Gloria Swal and her husband Mark after she broke her knee. Shortly after moving to Allentown, Aunt Gloria joined the Allentown United Methodist Church where recently she has enjoyed church service via listening to the service through her phone du to COVID-19 restrictions.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8pm and again Saturday from 9-10 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Funeral service will begin at 10am on Saturday, January 23 rd . Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Gloria's name to the Allentown United Methodist Church, 23 Church St., Allentown, NJ 08501 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.

Please be aware that there is limited capacity in the funeral home and social distancing and face coverings must be observed at both the funeral home and cemetery.
