IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gladys J.
Reinisch
April 5, 1935 – April 24, 2025
Gladys J. Reinisch
, 90, resident of Manalapan, New Jersey for 52 years, passed away
at her residence in Columbus, New Jersey surrounded by her loving family. Born in
Valencia, Venezuela, Gladys met her beloved husband Jerry while he was on a Peace
Corps assignment in Puerto Cabello. Following their two-year romance in Venezuela,
Gladys visited Jerry in Vermont, where their relationship flourished despite a few
months absence. They were married soon after in December of 1964, and remained so
for 35 years until Jerry's passing in 2000.
Gladys was a woman of many trades and passions. She was an avid gardener, with an
affinity for hydrangea. Her longtime home on Knox Lane in Manalapan was always host
to the most vibrant, beautiful flowers. Among many other passions, she loved arts and
crafts; including gift-wrapping, holiday wreath-making, piñata-crafting, and costume-
fashioning. She relished hosting family for holidays and impromptu summer barbecues.
She harbored a deep love for wildlife; particularly birds, bunnies, and deer. And she
loved eating traditional Venezuelan cuisine; especially platanos, funche, and arepas.
Most of all, she loved supporting her children and grandchildren in all of life's
endeavors. She constantly attended soccer games, track meets, theater performances,
graduations, birthday celebrations, or anything else that might call for a Wegman's
chocolate cake to celebrate.
Predeceased by her mother Josefina Neuman and her loving husband Jerome
Reinisch. Gladys is survived by her children Nancy, David, and Courtney, daughter-in-
law Tracie, and son-in-law Eric. She is also survived by her grandchildren Isabel, Kevin,
Douglas, Jillian, Patrick, Danielle, and Connor, as well as her sister-in-law Diana Lee
Stollar, nephew Mark Stollar wife Sandra, their daughters Brittany and Cailin and her
family in-laws Walter and Beverly Pencak.
Memorial Services for Gladys will be private at the request of the family. To continue
Gladys' charitable giving, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gladys's name to
St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105
