Obituary

Gladys A. Higgins, 85, of Burlington passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 22, at the Masonic Home in Burlington, NJ. Born in Union City, Gladys lived in Cranford for 30 years where she was active in Eastern Star, the Colony Club and was a hospital volunteer, before retiring to Manahawkin. She was an avid bridge player, reader, cook and ""the world's biggest Yankee fan"".

Daughter of the late Florence & Daniel Henkel, formerly of Union City, NJ, she is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Robert Higgins of Burlington; son James Higgins of Montpelier, VT; daughter Kathleen Pearson of Little Silver, NJ; daughter Nancie Wolfe of Toms River; daughter and son in law Betsey &Kevin Skelly of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown. Condolences may be sent to RRCH@masonic.org
