Obituary

Gertrude Karch, 77, of East Windsor passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Arcadia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hamilton Square.  Born in Trenton, she resided in the Bordentown/Hamilton area for most of her life before moving to East Windsor 17 years ago.  Gertrude retired from Mercer County T.R.A.D.E., where she worked for several years, volunteered at Deborah Heart and Lung in Browns Mills and was a member of the VFW Post 491 Women's Auxiliary in Yardville.  She enjoyed camping, making crafts and spending time with her family.

Predeceased by her son, John Raymond Karch III and her sister, Arlene Aigner; Gertrude is survived by her husband of 59 years, John R. Karch Jr.; three children and their spouses, Kathleen and Dennis Hoffman of Groveville, Susan and Joseph Hopkins of Bordentown and David and Pamela Karch of Hamilton Square; seven grandchildren, Jason Hoffman and his wife Eleni, Jeffrey and Kirsten Hoffman, Brittany and Melissa Karch, Joseph and David Hopkins; a great grandson, Damien Michael Hoffman; four brothers, Leon and his wife Fran Beatty, Vernon and his wife Marie Beatty, Ronald and his wife Betty Beatty and Charles Beatty and his special friend Rose Marie Woldanski; four sisters, Shirley Bergner, Joyce Moore, Janet Markham and her husband Ed and Gayle Yakelewicz and her husband Martin; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 11am on Monday, October 24th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 South Main Street, Allentown.  Interment will follow in St. Hedwig's Cemetery, Ewing.  Friends may call Sunday October 23rd from 5-8pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
