George D. Walton

George D. Walton, 68, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Serenity Hospice in Hamilton. Born in Trenton, he was a graduate of Steinert High School and a lifetime Hamilton area resident. A US Veteran, George was mechanic for the Air Force, serving from 1975 until 1983 and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was a talented handyman and could repair almost anything. If a job needed to be done, George was able to do it.

George loved to be around people. He often spent his weekends helping out at JoJo’s in Mercerville. In his free time, George loved to shoot pool. He was a member of various billiards leagues in Hamilton and Trenton for over 20 years and shot pool in many tournaments with the American Poolplayers Association of South Jersey.

Son of the late Harry K. and Edna Tantum Walton, George is survived by his siblings, H. Kendall Walton Jr., Bette-Jean Lahovich, and G. Thomas Walton and his wife Jennifer. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces and their families: Andrew (Elysa) Lahovich, Stephen (Jessica) Lahovich, Zachary (Jessica) Walton, Brie (Justin) Henshaw, Garth (Lauren) Walton, Alexandria (Dale) Hurd, and Helena Walton; his aunt, Linda Tantum; his cousin and his wife, Jeffrey and Vanessa Tantum and their son Owen as well as many other family and friends.

George’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the devoted and caring staff of both Hamilton Grove Healthcare Center and Serenity Hospice for the outstanding care provided to their brother.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 7th from 11-12pm with a time of sharing to begin at 12pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ.
