Obituary

George Sean Rose, 57, of Yardley, PA, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on August 27, 2023. Born in Queens, NY, George went to St. Anne's Elementary School and was a graduate of Maria Regina High School in Uniondale, Long Island. He earned his BA from the College of the Holy Cross in Worchester MA and earned his MBA from Columbia University in New York City. After learning to speak Japanese while part of the Japanese Exchange Teaching - (JET) program, he became a part of the NY Yankees organization as the interpreter for Hideki Irabu. George continued with the Yankees for the better part of 25 years working with Hideki Mastui and Masahiro Tanaka, and most recently as the Manager of Pacific Rim Operations. He was also an advisor for the Yomiuri Giants.

A "Friend of Bill" for over 26 years, George was a founding member of the Tabor House in Trenton, which helped many people rebuild their lives over the years. He was dedicated to his Catholic faith and was a longtime member of St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish in Hamilton. George was a Knight of the Immaculata, an Assistant Scoutmaster to Troop 230, a board member of Catholic Men for Jesus Christ and co-hosted the Brothers in Arms Catholic Radio Show. George enjoyed reading, baseball, coin collecting and skiing, but his greatest passion was his family and his faith.

George was pre-deceased by his father and stepmother, George and Dorothy Rose and by his mother, Mary Ann Rose. He is survived by his loving wife of over 20 years, Carrie Rose; his son, Sean Matthew Rose; his sister, Kathleen Sweeney and her husband James of Garden City, NY; his brother, Michael Rose and his wife Kristi of Wallkill, NY; his nieces and nephews, Rosie, Jay, Annie, Mary Kate, Hanna, Josie, Evelyn, Penelope, Aenghus, Lazarus, Brigid, Bonnie, Madison, and Max as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.

The viewing will take place on Friday, 1 September, in St. Raphael-Holy Angels Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton, from 2 to 4 p.m. and then from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 2 September at 10:30 a.m. with Bishop David M. O'Connell, C.M., serving as principal celebrant. Homilist is Father Jeffrey Kegley, pastor of St. Mary Parish, Middletown, former pastor of St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish and close friend of Mr. Rose. Memorial contributions may be made in George's name to Tabor House at www.taborhouse.org .
