Brunner, Christopher Sylvester and his fiancée Christina Cacace and Kelsey Sylvester, three great grandchildren: Joseph, Tyler and Chase Brunner, many nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog ""Scooter"".  He was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Rider College and his Master's Degree in Education from Trenton State College.  Puggy was a WWII Navy Veteran and was a retired Captain from the Trenton Police Department.

Puggy was very involved in sports throughout his life.  He was a star soccer and baseball player for Trenton High leading them to 44 wins and two undefeated seasons.  He then went on to Rider leading the undefeated 1939 soccer team as the captain and MVP, and leading the baseball team in career stolen bases in a collegiate career spanning 3 decades,  all of this earning him election to the Rider University Hall of Fame.  From Rider he went on to several successful professional soccer teams, being selected to all-star teams competing against foreign countries, and he was also selected to try out for the Olympics.  He started his coaching career at Trenton Catholic winning State Championships 4 out of the 5 years he coached.  Puggy also coached many Trenton PAL teams and in several local leagues over the years.  He coached the 1956 Trenton Babe Ruth All-Star Team to a World Championship and enjoyed the yearly reunions of those players.  Puggy also enjoyed coaching girls' soccer and softball at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) with his friend Billy Drake.  Pug continued to lend his experience in coaching his grandchildren's soccer and baseball teams and helped establish the Florence High Girls soccer program.

While rising through the ranks of the Trenton Police Department from 1951 to 1987, Puggy was very involved the Trenton PAL, serving as president for several years and continuing to serve that organization well after his retirement.  Recognizing the need for fellow officers to save for their future he helped establish the Trenton Police Federal Credit Union.  He also taught evening classes in math and served on the MCCC Criminal Justice Advisory Board.  He was active for many years on the Trenton Select Committee and with the Mercer County Soccer Association, being honored by both for his lifetime achievements and service to the greater Trenton area.

In his later years he and his wife Janet became involved in the Galaxy Wheelers Square Dancers and enjoyed performing at many square dance venues.  Puggy was always a gentleman and a devoted family man, ready to help others whenever he could.  He was just a good all around guy and a positive influence for many people throughout his life.
