Obituary

George David Kalinowski, age 68, of Yardville, was born in 1955 on the Mannheim U.S. Army base in Heidelberg, Germany. He passed away from a sudden and rare cancer on October 24th, 2023.

Known as David, he grew up in West Beach Haven, NJ; Aberdeen, MD; Germany and Brant Beach in LBI, NJ. After graduation from Southern Regional High School in 1973, Dave moved to the Hamilton area and attended Mercer County Community College.

After 25 years, Dave retired in 2019 from Mercer County's Department of Public Safety where he served as a Sergeant at the Mercer County Correctional Facility. Prior to his career in corrections, Dave worked in the automotive sales industry and as a model maker.

Retirement served him well as he pursued his multiple hobbies including basketball, Volkswagen Beetle restorations, home improvement projects at his second home in the Poconos, and coin collecting. He coached several of his children's basketball teams and was a member of the Trenton Numismatic Club.

David is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Kristine Nichols Kalinowski; son, David and his wife Renee of Yardville, NJ; daughter, Dana and her partner, Michael of Rustburg, VA; daughter, Colleen and son, Johnny of Yardville. David was overjoyed this past year as he welcomed granddaughters Mira, Dalia and Amelia.

Additionally, he is survived by his mother Myumi Kalinowski; sister, Eve Eagan and her partner, John Regan of Wyncote, PA; brother, Michael and his wife, Brenda of Georgia; brother, Ed and his wife, Kathleen of Vermont; former wife, Denise and her husband, Joe Lynch; parents-in-law, Peggy and John Nichols and brother and sister-in- law, Keith and Joanne Nichols. He has several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many friends who share his hobbies.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, October 29th from 3pm-5pm at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main Street, Allentown, NJ 08501. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Church on Monday, October 30th at 10am.
