George A. Grove, 88, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Florence, NJ he had been a resident of Bordentown City most of his life.
George was a WWII Navy Veteran and a retired Engineer with Penn-Central Railroad, where he was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Fireman and Engineman. He was an exempt member of the Consolidated Fire Company of Bordentown and the NJ State Fire Chiefs Association; a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge #28 F&AM, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Central Jersey and the Crescent Temple AAONMS; a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Bordentown and became part of the Peppler family who couldn't be more appreciative for the thiry years he was with them.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Gladys K. Grove (Reeder), his daughters and son-in-law, Gay and Al Cooper of Yardville, Linda Thomas and granddaughter, Laura Thomas both of Bordentown, his sister and brother-in-law, Mae and Robert Linsey and two special friends, Wilford Moore and Keith Becker.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Wednesday, July 13 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown Township. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm and again on Wednesday morning from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Masonic Services will begin at 7 pm.
