Obituary

George R.Crate, 83, of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday March 22nd at Jersey Shore Hospital. Born in Orange, NJ, he moved to Allentown in 1972 and remained there until recently moving to the Point Pleasant area. A US Army Veteran, serving as a parachutist in the 82nd Airborne; Mr. Crate owned E&L and Kerns Beverage in Trenton and operated and the Mobil Gas Station in Allentown for many years.

Predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Crate; he is survived by three sons, George Randall, Richard Allan and Jon Steve Crate; his very special friend, Laura V. Steward; a brother, Robert Allan Crate and two sisters, Elizabeth Maffuci and Ida Mary Griffith.

Graveside service will be held Thursday 1:30 pm at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Arrangements under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
