Obituary

Genevieve S. Trout "Genny", 86, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Born in Trenton, she lived in Hamilton Township and was a graduate of Hamilton High School. She went on to meet the love of her life, Richard while working at DeLaval Steam Turbine Co. in Trenton. Together they lived in Bordentown City where they raised their three sons.

Genny worked and retired from the Bordentown Regional School District where many will remember her from her various roles throughout the District including within the cafeteria and transportation department. She also volunteered as an emergency medical technician and was a life member of Hope Hose Humane Co. No. 1. She was a member of the Bordentown Chapter No. 257 O.E.S., a cherished member of Christ Episcopal Church of Bordentown, and will be fondly remembered for her continuous charitable contributions to her community. Genny was also honored by being named the 2015 Grand Marshall of the annual Bordentown City Halloween Parade. She was an avid member within the community, a woman of strong faith, and was always willing to lend a listening ear or a helping hand to anyone she met or knew.

Genny also loved to decorate her home for the holidays with beautiful displays which were enjoyed by all. She enjoyed attending church, reading, watching the Phillies and Eagles, spending time with her family, and traveling to Vermont with her husband and dear friends. Genny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Predeceased by her parents, Hans and Anna Ebeling, her beloved husband Richard H. Trout, and her brother, John Ebeling. She is survived by her three sons, Kenneth Trout of Bordentown Township, Kevin Trout (Jennifer) of Hamilton Square, and Keith Trout (Chrysa) of Bordentown Township. Her grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, and Carli, her great grandchildren, Cayden and Amelia, her sister-in-law, Loraine M. Sickles, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Bordentown, on April 17 th from 9:30am to 11:00am. A Requiem Mass will be said at 11:00am inside the church, with portions of the service said graveside at 11:40am. Because of Covid-19 restriction, the congregation inside the church is limited to 50 people; the graveside service is being offered so that all who wish to pay their respects may do so. Please note that social distancing and face coverings must be observed in the church and on the grounds.
