Garetta H. Baird, age 83, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at her home.  Born in Trenton, she was an Allentown area resident for many years.  Mrs. Baird was a secretary for the Mercer County Board of Agriculture and secretary to the president of the Farm Bureau.  She was also a member of the New Jersey and Mercer County Farm Bureau Woman's Committee.

Daughter of the late John Miller and Ada Henly, she was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Horace Baird; she is survived by two nieces, Patricia Taylor O'Connor and Jean Taylor Principato and two nephews, Edward and Richard Henley; as well as many close friends.

Funeral service will be held 10 am on Friday, March 11 ^th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown .  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday 7-9 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allentown First Aid Squad, PO Box 252, Allentown, NJ 08501.
