G. William Collier, 90, of Chesterfield Twp., died Thursday at his home. Born in Bordentown, he was a lifetime resident of the Crosswicks and Chesterfield area. A graduate of Bordentown Military Institute, Mr. Collier earned his Bachelors degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was a US Army veteran serving as a Captain in the Signal Corps during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Shortly after WWII he established the G. William Collier Agency in Hamilton Square and was active with the company for over 50 years. Mr. Collier was a member and past president of the Northern Burlington Regional School Board and involved with the construction of the school. He was an active member of the Crosswicks Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends. He enjoyed Harvey Cedars, his farmer in Chesterfield Twp. and was an avid tennis player and fisherman. Mr. Collier was devoted to his family and had a genuine affection for people, his friends and his clients.
Son of the late Albert and Virginia Collier, he is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Brick Collier; his sons, Dr. William S. Collier and John P. Collier; his grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Michael and Michelle Collier and his sister, Jean Stenberg.
A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday December 15th at the Crosswicks Friends Meeting House, 15 Front St., Crosswicks. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Bay Association, 87 Silver Bay Rd., Silver Bay, NY 12874. Arrangements under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
