Frederick F. Cichowski Sr., 83, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 at his home. Born in Newark, he was raised in Elizabeth and was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. He then resided in Roselle Park, Westfield and Basking Ridge before moving to Allentown, NJ nine years ago. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was assigned to General Head Quarters in Tokyo, under General Douglas MacArthur Fred had worked for American Can Co., of Hillside for 30 years as well as Exxon Mobil, in Bayway for 14 years. He was an avid fisherman of both salt and fresh water and passed on his enthusiasm to his family.

Son of the late Joseph and Victoria Cichowski, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Cichowski (nee Orlop), two sons and daughters-in-law; Frederick F. Cichowski and Nancy Selph of Bridgewater and John O. and Kam Cichowski of Tuxedo, NY. His daughter and son-in-law; Chrisintia and Michael Early of Monroe, four grandsons and three brothers: Edward and Stanley Cichowski, both of Whiting and Joseph Cichowski of North Plainfield.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, NJ.
