Frederick R. Burkhart, 89, of Bordentown Township died Tuesday, February 3rd, at RWJ University Hospital at Hamilton. Born and raised in Trenton, he resided in the Bordentown area for the last 10 years. He retired from Roebling Wire and Rope of Trenton, was a WWII Army veteran and was a member of the VFW of Hamilton.
Son of the late Frederick ""Fritz"" and Grace Burkhart, husband of the late Justine ""Julie"" Burkhart (Calcowski), brother of the late Charles and Johnnie Burkhart, Mildred Marcinkowski and Helen Gibbs, and father of the late Dick Burkhart and Patricia Wertz; he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Andrew Puca of Bordentown Twp. and Catherine and John Barclay of Hamilton Twp; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Katherine Bongard of Hamilton Twp; a son-in-law, Cordell Wertz of Palmetto, FL; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Friday 11 am, February 6th, at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hamilton Twp. Friends may call Friday morning 9:30 am until time of service at the funeral home.
