Obituary

Fred Stacey, Jr., 79 of Allentown, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Capital Health Systems, Hopewell.  Born in War, WV, he was a longtime Allentown area resident.  A US Air Force Veteran, he retired from the Air Force after 21 years of enlistment, serving in both the Korean and Vietnam eras, stationed at the U-Tapao Airbase in Thailand.  Fred owned the Trot-In restaurant in Bordentown and later worked for many years as the Manager of the Ewing McDonalds before retiring from the New Jersey Department of Corrections after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons and the Scottish Rite.

Son of the late Fred and Victoria Stiltner Stacey he was predeceased by his wife Gloria Stacey and four brothers, Clarence, Eshman, James and Curtis.  He is survived by his devoted son, Mike Stacey and his girlfriend, Claudia Wall of Yardley, PA; a grandson Mike Stacey Jr. of Brick; a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Anne-Marie Stacey of VA; his fiancée, Mary Hayes of Robbinsville; 5 siblings, Carol (Ed) Grimsley of Aberdeen MD, Virginia Stacey DeHart of Rhoadesville, VA, Ruth Stacey (Jay C.) Altheiser of Cedar Bluff, VA, Virgie (Al) Stacey Woody of Richmond VA and David Stacey of Danville VA as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 10 am, Thursday, June 27 th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.  The Rev. Stephen Heinzel-Nelson will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.  Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Fred's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
