Frank Nelson Van Gelder

Entered into God's care June 30, 2021, Frank Van Gelder was born in Sussex, NJ on November 5 th , 1934. He was a 1952 graduate of Sussex High School (NJ) and a 1956 graduate of Rider University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce.  Formerly of Edgewater Park, NJ he resided in Chesterfield, NJ for 47 years, and more recently in Randolph, NJ.

He was a Registered Municipal Accountant, a Licensed Public-School Accountant and a Municipal Finance Officer for many years. In 1967 he founded his own practice and retired in 1999.  A man of strong faith, he was a member of Beverly Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, trustee, treasurer, and youth group leader.  Frank enjoyed his family, friends, pets, golf, and "The Cabin" at Lake Pochung in Vernon, NJ.

Son of the late Richard Nelson Van Gelder and Violet May Stoddard Van Gelder, he is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jean Bayley Van Gelder, and his children, David Frank Van Gelder and his wife, Anne Norman, Paul Charles Nelson Van Gelder and his wife Susan Race, and Barbara Jean Hansen and her husband Thomas E. Hansen; seven grandchildren: Kelsey Faith Van Gelder and her partner Sergei Tcyrulnikov, Erin Julia (Van Gelder) MacArthur and her husband David MacArthur, Jamie Lynn Van Gelder and her fiancé Dylan Keir, Wesley Davis Van Gelder, Jeffrey Thomas Hansen, Stephen David Hansen, and Stephanie Jean (Hansen) Patel and her husband Cory Patel.  Also, Frank is survived by his brother Alan Van Gelder, his sister-in-law Barbara Bayley Cross, two great grandchildren, six nieces and nephews, and several grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 1 pm Friday, July 2 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call upon the family from 11 am until time of service. Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville Township, NJ.

He and his family extend gratitude to the caregivers who attended him with skill and dignity.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to The Seeing Eye, Inc. (Morristown, NJ) or the Beverly Presbyterian Church in Edgewater Park, New Jersey.
