Romano
April 23, 1928 – September 16, 2023
Frank R. Romano, 95, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023 at Rose Hill Assisted Living in Robbinsville, NJ. He was born in 1928, in Pittstown, PA and resided in Hamilton Square then Cream Ridge for several years. He is predeceased by his wife Mildred (Breza), and was married for 62 years. He is survived by his 3 children, Frank Romano (Michele), Beverly Fiore (John), Anthony Romano (Diane); two grandchildren: Jeffrey Pagano (Dawn) and Michael Pagano (Sarah); Five great grandchildren: Riley, Isabella, Vincent, Dominic and Anthony Pagano and two siblings: Victoria Brown and Joseph Romano (Jean), several nieces and nephews.
Frank was a kind and gentle man who loved his family and set a good example for us all. He enlisted into the Coast Guard at age 17 in 1946 and served two years. When he left the Coast Guard, he soon started a career working in the automotive repair service. He worked for over 40 years for himself and owned several businesses, his last was owned business was Lalor Street Mobile. After retiring for a year, he worked another 22 years at NADE Auto Auction in Bordentown, NJ.
He loved the game of golf and the many friends he made along the way, especially at the American Slovak Club in Roebling. He played golf well into his eighties, even after the loss of sight of one eye. He also enjoyed his trips to Atlantic City with his wife.
Frank loved country music. I can still remember Sunday mornings hearing Roger Miller singing "In The Summertime" from the record player. He was able to provide something truly magical for his family each year with a weeklong summer vacation in Wildwood. We couldn't wait for that time of year to come around. Those memories are priceless.
He loved his pet dogs and over the years had a few. On some weekends, especially in the summer he would load up the station wagon with the dogs and some of the neighborhood kids and take us all for a nature walk. This was always special. At night watching TV he would share his snacks, one for him, one for the dog. He had a big heart and will truly be missed by all who loved him.
