Francis "Frank" J. Lumia, M.D., F.A.C.C., age 81, of Allentown, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 20, 2022.  Born April 24, 1941, in Trenton, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (née Amodio) Lumia and brother to the late Peter Lumia.

Frank attended the Trenton public schools and received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago in 1963 and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Chicago in 1967.  Frank was a respected cardiologist at Deborah Heart and Lung Center from 1977 to 2006.  While at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, he was the Co-Director of the department of Nuclear Medicine and Assistant Chairman, Department of Cardiology.  Frank was a member of the Medical Society of New Jersey where he held many positions including Speaker, House of Delegates 2008 to 2010. He was also a member of the Burlington County (NJ) Medicine Society and was president 2003-2004 and 2009-2010.

Frank was an avid painter and art enthusiast.  He started painting at the suggestion of his late mother-in-law, Rose King, who thought he needed a good hobby.  Frank frequently participated in the Monmouth County Senior Center art shows and placed first and second for many of his efforts.  Opera, theater, and travel were a few of his many passions as well as baking, especially with his great nephew.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn King Lumia; along with his daughter, Dr. Margaret Ellen Lumia of Cranbury, New Jersey; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph John Lumia and Francine Schiffman of New Jersey; great-nieces and nephews, in particular, Nathaniel, Harper, Silas, and cousin Max; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.  Frank was a caring and supportive friend, always ready to help anyone in need.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 25 ^th from 2-4pm and again 7-9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 26 ^th at 10am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Sq. NJ.  Memorial contributions may be made in Frank's name to Deborah Heart and Lung Center, 212 Trenton Rd, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
