Francis E. Fels (Frank), 91, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at his home in Lebanon, PA with his loving family by his side.
Born in Gallitzin, PA he graduated from Gallitzin High School. He attended The National Radio Institute and Southern Signal School. Frank served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era. He was later employed by RCA as a satellite technician on TIROS, the first TV weather satellite. Finishing at General Electric as a marketing manager collecting satellite data, retiring in 1994.
Frank was Past Master of Apollo Lodge #56 F&AM, a past member of the Hightstown Apollo Lodge #41 and was a member of the Lebanon Lodge #226 of Lebanon, PA. He was also a member of the Crescent Shriners and Scottish Rite of New Jersey.
Frank was an avid golfer and previously belonged to Peddie Golf Club located in Hightstown, NJ. Especially after retirement Frank and Barbara enjoyed travelling extensively around the Globe. He was a proud and faithful member of the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepard in Lebanon, Pa
Predeceased by his parents Robert and Catherine Fels, and son John Fels He is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years Barbara N. Fels, his two sons: Francis (Frank) Fels (Gail Puk) of Berlin, NJ and Robert Fels of Hammonton, NJ. His three brothers: William Fels (Linda) of Mt. Joy, PA, Randy Fels(Angie) of Hasting, PA and Daniel Fels (Freddie) of Chaswick, PA. and his sister Colleen Salpino of Frederick, MD. Grandchildren: Jaime (Kevin) Jennifer, Christopher (Gina) and John (JR) (Heba) and great grandchildren: Keida, Alayna, Rosalee, Edward, JT and Brooke. He is also survived by the McMillen family.
A celebration of life for Frank will be held at 11am on Sat July 26 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. A visitation with the family will be from 9am until the time of service. Masonic Services will take place at 10:45 am. Inurnment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville Township.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wellspan Hospice,1503 Quinten Road, Lebanon, PA 17042.
