Obituary

Florence E. Wallace, 87, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. Born in New York City, daughter of the late Clarence and Anna Cook, and sister of the late Grace Cook, Florence first discovered her love of dance. After becoming an accomplished, professional tap dancer, Florence shared her passion by teaching dance in Jackson Heights, NY.

After marrying her beloved husband of 51 years, Richard Wallace, the couple began their life journey together in Roselle Park, NJ, to raise their children. Over the course of time, the winters of New England enticed the family to move their home to Windham, NH. It was there Florence continued to touch the lives of children as a special needs teacher in Windham and Hudson, New Hampshire.

In 1986, Florence and Richard moved their home to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to be closer to their precious family and spend more time with their greatest source of pride and joy, their grandchildren.
Florence is survived by her devoted husband, Richard, her sister Edna Palumbo, and a cousin, Jimmy Amrhein. She was the proud mother of six sons: John, Richard, Stephen, Paul, Andy and Carl and six daughters: Susan, Dorothy, Dorean, Janis, Laura and Joanne, and their respective spouses. She will be sorely missed by her 30 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, who loved her very, very much.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Monday, September 27, at the Church of Assumption, 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ. Interment will be private. Friends may call Sunday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ 08505.

Memorial Contributions can be made in Florence's name to any Foundation or Charity dedicated to the welfare and educational advancement of children.
