Esther (Essie) Lisehora Barnes, 81, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 with her husband and her son at her side. Born in Hedding, NJ in 1935, she was the daughter of Jacob and Anastasia Lisehora. A resident of Columbus, she grew up in the Mansfield area and was a 1953 graduate of William MacFarland High School. Esther had many careers over the years, but her main role was that of wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Providence Presbyterian Church of Bustleton NJ.
Esther was predeceased by all of her siblings, brothers Michael Lisehora, John Lisehora, and Anthony Lisehora and sisters Mary Soroko, Anne Jacobs and Helen Czepiel, all gone too soon.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years Edwin G.(Barney) Barnes, son Kenneth G. Barnes and his wife Marie R. Power-Barnes of Hamilton, NJ, daughter Joanne L. and her husband John Pontus of Aliquippa, PA, grandchildren Kimberly Jones Vitale, Casey Jones, Samantha M. Pontus, Danielle H. Pontus, great-grandson Gavin Jones and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28th, 2016 at the Providence Presbyterian Church of Bustleton, 2087 Old York Rd. Burlington, NJ. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown Township. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ and again on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
