Ellen L. Kisthardt, 55, of Cream Ridge, passed away this past Sunday. She was born and had lived in Trenton before moving to Cream Ridge 30 years ago. She was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School and achieved a nursing degree through St. Frances School of Nursing. Ellen was also pursuing education in natropathic herbal medicine at Clayton College.
Ellen worked as a RN in several local hospitals. She most recently worked for Bayada home care nursing in Freehold, and also owned and operated Ellen L. Kisthardt RN Electrolysis of Cream Ridge. As an accomplished artist she operated Le'Fleur Glace' her stained glass studio, and was a member of the New Jersey Poetry Society. Her love was her family and Caleb's Hope Cottage in the Adirondack Mountains, where she enjoyed kayaking, snowmobiling,and mountain climbing .
Daughter of the late Dr. Joseph and Erika Laufenberg, she is survived by her husband of 35 years: David H. Kisthardt, a son and daughter-in-law; Jonathan and Susan Kisthardt of New Egypt, two daughters Joelle and JaimeLynn Kisthardt of Cream Ridge, a brother; Walter Laufenberg of Yardley, PA, a granddaughter April Kisthardt.
Funeral Services will be celebrated Thursday 11 am at the Rose of Sharon Church, Jacobstown, NJ. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of NJ, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083.
