Blanchard
November 12, 1934 – February 19, 2025
Ella A. Blanchard, 90, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Serenity Hospice in Hamilton. Born in Trenton, she was a graduate of Yardville School and was a lifetime area resident. Ella was a hard worker and loved to work. She started working on the farm as a child and worked at many places over the years before finally retiring at the age of 89. Her favorite type of work was doing piecework for Waterbury Button Company and Anchor Thread Company.
Ella was a longtime active volunteer with Friends of Burlington County Animal Shelter and was always doing something for the dogs and cats in the shelter. In her free time, Ella loved taking family trips to Maine and going on cruises with her husband. She also enjoyed working on puzzles and trying her luck in Atlantic City.
Daughter of the late C. Arthur and Mildred Grover, she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Charles A. Blanchard Sr. "Jake" and by two grandsons, Matthew J. Blanchard and Kyle D. Stevenson. Ella is survived by her children, Charles A. Blanchard Jr. and his partner, Lynn Winkowski of Allentown and Sharon Stevenson and her husband Drew of Shamong; her grandchildren and their spouses, Charles A. III and Agata Blanchard, Richard "RJ" and Ali Blanchard, Kyle C. Abbott and fiancée Shasteen, Shannon T. and Billy Reed, and Bradley M. and Marcy Stevenson; her granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Strangia; and great grandchildren, Luke, Callie, and Sadie Blanchard, Olivia and Spencer Stevenson, Lorelei Abbott, and Decker Reed.
Ella was one of 13 children and was predeceased by eight siblings. She is survived by her four sisters, Carolyn Matlack, Evelyn Cook, Patricia Rosina, and Joann Beatty as well as many nieces and nephews including Billy Matlack and his wife Diane who were always there to help when needed.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 25th from 4-7pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.
