Elizabeth H. Updike, 79, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Hamilton Grove Healthcare.  Known to many as Betty, she was born in Robbinsville and resided in the Robbinsville, Hightstown, Upper Freehold and Bordentown area for most of her life before moving to Trenton.  Betty loved to cook and did so at various eateries including: the Department of Transportation, The Country Inn in Robbinsville and the New Heights Inn in Bordentown.  She owned and operated the Cream Ridge Grill and Dairy with predeceased ex-husband Edward Marisi.  Her artistic flare, creative talent and passion for things home-made brought smiles and love in all she did, made and cooked.  Betty was a member of the Robbinsville Seventh-day Adventist Community Church from childhood.

Daughter of the late Reba and Wilmer Updike, she was predeceased by her brother, Walter Updike and ex-husband Edwin Chapman Jr.  Elizabeth is survived by two children, Trudee Parker and her husband, Michael of Toms River and Edwin Chapman and his wife, Jill of Bordentown; three stepchildren, Louis Marisi and his wife Grace, Larry Marisi and Laura Marisi; her grandchildren, Michael, Chelsea and Marissa Parker, Edwin and Lauren Chapman and Matthew Johnson; her step grandchildren, Aaron, Gina and Kristen Marisi as well as three nephews, Harold ""Skip"" Updike, Barry Updike and Charles ""Chuck"" Updike.

Friends may call on Monday June 25 ^th from 10 am at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.  Funeral service will be held 11 am and Interment will follow in the Allentown Methodist Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions made to the Robbinsville Seventh-day Adventist Community Church, 2314 Route 33 Robbinsville, NJ 08691 are requested.  Elizabeth's favorite colors were Royal Blues and medium to dark purples.  In memory of all her creative talents, the family asks you to celebrate her by wearing her favorites.
