Elizabeth Buckley Franken "Betty", 96 of Robbinsville, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Robbinsville, and a lifelong resident, she was a 1943 Allentown High School graduate. Betty worked for Herron & Myer Laboratories before starting her family. Betty was a founding member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish and in 1954 the new St. Gregory the Great Parish where she was a founding member of its Altar Rosary Society, PTA and Senior Citizens Club. She was also a member of the Washington Twp. Seniors Club and proud to be the 2011 Robbinsville Irish Person of the Year. Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, watching the Phillies, spending time with her family, and traveling cross country with her husband and family in their RV.
Daughter of the late Timothy and Jennie (Welsh) Buckley, she was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Charlie and her son, John. Betty was also predeceased by her siblings, Margaret, Joseph, Edward, Lester, Eugene, Vincent, and Gus Buckley. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jane and Steve Erbe, Jim and Vicki Franken, Joe and Kimberlee Franken, Barb and Tom Van Horn with whom she resided and Francis and Maureen Franken; her grandchildren, Lester, Jennifer, Mary, Jeff, Jay, Michael, Wesley, Riley, Chris, Kate, and Jason; her great grandchildren, Kevin, William, Justin, Amy and Charlotte; her sister-in-law, Doris Buckley as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Friday, March 12 th at St. Gregory the Great RC Church, Hamilton Square. Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville. A viewing will be held Thursday from 5-7pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.
Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to St Gregory the Great Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690.
