Elizabeth M. Coates, 89, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010, after a brief illness. Born and raised in Lynchburg, VA, she resided in Cherry Hill and Gloucester, prior to moving to the Masonic Home in Burlington. She was a member and Past Matron of the Fervency Chapter O.E.S. (now Athene 201) and enjoyed reading and puzzles.

Wife of the late A. Herman Coates; she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Vicki Coates of Sommerdale, NJ and Gary and Kristine Coates of Cherry Hill.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Philip Schnell of Gloucester; a brother and sister-in-law, Kelly and Kathleen McGinnis of Bonita Springs, FL; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pauline Christian of Madison Heights, VA and Kathleen and Cecil Poston of Vera Beach, FL; three sister-in-laws, Mary and Francis Coates and Virginia Almay; nine grandchildren, Philip Schnell IV, Kellie Ferry and her husband James, Daniel Schnell and his wife Gina, Kathryn, Emily and Gary Jr., Michael Jr., Kevin and Brooke Coates, as well as ten great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 11 am Wednesday, September 1 at the Masonic Home Chapel, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington. Interment will follow in Harleigh Cemetery, Camden. Friends may call from 10 am until time of service, with Eastern Star Services at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home of New Jersey, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington, NJ 08016. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown.
