Elizabeth A. Burns, 92, of Bordentown, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Mount Holly Rehab and Healthcare. Born in Yardville, she grew up in Allentown and live most of her life in Bordentown before retiring to Whiting in 1992 and later, moved to Clare Estates in Bordentown.
A graduate of Cathedral High School in Trenton, Elizabeth worked for the State of New Jersey, Department of Youth and Family Services, retiring in 1991. She was active with her catholic faith. She was a member of various churches and served as an eucharistic minister for many years. Above all, Elizabeth loved being with her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Daughter of the late Patrick and Sarah Murphy, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Thomas J. Burns, Sr. and her five siblings, Agnes, Joseph, Charles, and William Murphy, and Helen Greene. Elizabeth is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Susan and Thomas Diveley of Columbus and Thomas Jr. and Jeanette Burns of Naples, FL; her grandchildren, Jeffrey and Melissa Danbury, Michael and Jackie Danbury, Thomas, III and Torie Burns, and Katelyn Burns; her great grandchildren, Brayden, Elizabeth, and Amelia Danbury, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be private under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
Memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth's name to Vitality Hospice, 460 Veterans Dr., Suite C, Burlington, NJ 08016.
