, he was a lifetime resident and was a regular attendee at
Robbinsville
Township
council meetings. He was instrumental in environmental issues within the township and was a former member of the Open Space Committee. A United States Coast Guard veteran, Ed was owner and operator of
Diefenbach
Cactus
Gardens
, which he ran for the past 35 years. He also worked for the State of NJ Department of Agriculture. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an amateur taxidermist, a keen archaeologist and grandmaster entertainer to his entire family and friends.
Son of the late William F. and Clara R. Diefenbach, he was predeceased by his brother, William
E. Diefenbach
and brother-in-law Byron Flock Jr. He is survived by sister-in-law Lois Diefenbach and his siblings, Donald L. and Joan Diefenbach, Charlotte D. Flock, Dorothy D. and Richard Bradley, LeRoy A. and Elizabeth Diefenbach, Louise E. and Richard Zoilkowski and James E. and Leanne Diefenbach, as well as 52 nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Byron Flock III.
