Edward L. Stillwell, 75, of Barnegat, passed away, Saturday April 5, at his daughter's home in Robbinsville surrounded by his family. Born in Trenton, he graduated from Trenton Catholic High School. He resided in Bordentown Township, before moving to Beach Haven with the last 5 years in Barnegat. He first retired with the Pennsylvania Railroad and then retired as a Lieutenant with the New Jersey Department of Corrections. Ed was a member of the Lacey Elks #2518 and Bordentown Elks #2085, the Lacey Yacht Club, the Heritage Point Adult Community as well as St. Mary's Church of Barnegat. He loved to be outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed camping, gardening, cookouts and being on his boat at the shore. He also enjoyed watching football, especially his Raiders. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His smile and laughter brought everyone close to him and he had a positive impact on all who met him.
Son of the late Arthur and Marion Stillwell (nee Rue), he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan Stillwell (nee Stutz), a son and daughter-in-law, Edward A. and Stacy Stillwell of Delran, a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Tafrow of Robbinsville, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Helen Stillwell of Lexington, DE and four grandchildren, Eddie and Dona Stillwell, Stephanie Ashbock and her husband Jason and Andrew Harvilla, as well as many close relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10:30 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville. Family and friends may call Thursday evening 7 to 9 pm and again on Friday morning 9 to10 am, at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ.
