Our beloved Edward A Richards accepted the angels' invitation to join our Lord in Paradise on May, 16, 2013 at Capital Health System-Fuld Campus. As a result our hearts are a little less bright but we know the Heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, music, peace and laughter.
Edward was born in Trenton, New Jersey on December 15, 1930, grew up in Crosswicks and was a graduate of Hamilton High School. He served in the United States Air Force for 31 years, and achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He had tours of duty in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following the service he worked for the Golden Nugget/Bally Grand Casinos in Atlantic City for 17 years. When he wasn't working, Edward loved playing cards with friends, spending time with family, Jazz music and playing the saxophone. He will be deeply missed by all.
Son of the late William and Loretta Richards (DeLaney) and brother of the late Donald Richards. Edward is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years Barbara L. Richards (Goolsby), his son and daughter-in-law, Edward A. Jr. and Maudette Richards, of Wilmington, DE, his daughter and son-in-law, M. Denise Richards-Rival and Eddy Benoit, of Highland Mills, NY, his two sisters, Louise Richards of Hyattsville, MD, and Barbara J. Richards of Burlington New Jersey, three grandchildren Tiffany Richards, Brittney Griggs and Ian Rival along with a host of family and friends.
Funeral Services celebrating Edward's life will be held 11 am Saturday, May 25 at the Galilee Baptist Church, 440 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Trenton, NJ. Interment will follow in North Crosswicks Cemetery. Viewing hours will take place Saturday morning from 9 am until time of the service.
