Obituary

Amos Edward Pierce, 98 of Yardville, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family, weeks shy of his 99 th birthday. Born in Chester, PA he was a 1940 graduate of Chester High School.

An army veteran, Edward served in the European Theater of Operation in World War II with Company A, 56 th Armored Infantry Battalion of the 12 th Armored Division. During his years in the service, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge, the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal, and the French Legion of Honor Medal. After his discharge, Ed attended Temple University and graduated from the School of Business Management in June of 1950. He worked as a Senior Field Auditor for Gulf Oil Company, now Chevron and retired in 1983 after 34 years of service.

Edward was an active and distinguished member of the Masonic Organization. As a 60 year member of Gothic Fraternal Lodge No. 270 F.&A.M., he served as a past treasurer and past trustee and was a recipient of the Distinguished White Apron. Ed was also an M.S.A member and Trustee Emeritus of the Valley of Central Jersey A.A.S.R from whom he recently received the Daniel Tompkins Medal for exemplary service to both country and the Masonic Fraternity. He was a member of the Crescent Shrine Temple A.A.O.N.M.S, the Finance Officer Emeritus of Crescent Shrine's Uniformed Units, a member of Crescent Temple's Patrol Association where he served as a past secretary, past president and past treasurer; a past member and past adjutant of Crescent Temple Legion of Honor, a member of the Princeton Shrine Club where he served as a past president and past treasurer, a past president of Princeton Fraternal Association, and a member of the Royal Order of Scotland. In addition to his Masonic affiliations, Ed was active in several military organizations: a life member and past president of the 12 th Armored Division Association, the Chapel of Four Chaplains and the Combat Infantrymen's Association.

Predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Rita C. Pierce and his daughter, Margaret P. Lauricella, Ed is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joann P. and Eugene L. Snook; his son-in-law, John C. Lauricella; his grandsons, Jeffrey E. Lauricella and Steven C. Lauricella and his wife, Nancy; his great grandsons, Edward, Ethan and Nicholas Lauricella; as well as his niece and nephews, Debbie Thompson, Wes Whitaker, David Whitaker and Robert Zane.

Burial will be private in Princeton Memorial Park. Due to concerns related to Covid, a memorial gathering to celebrate Ed's life will be planned for a later date.
