Edward C. Metzel, 77 of Robbinsville, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his home. Born in New Brunswick, Edward resided in Robbinsville for over 40 years. A US Navy veteran and member of the American Legion Post 148 in Hightstown; he retired from IBM where he worked as a boiler technician for 28 years. An outdoors man, Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing and repairing farm tractors.

Son of the late Edward and Julia Metzel, Edward is survived by his loving wife, Anna E. Metzel; his children, June Shimko and her husband Steve of West Trenton, Edward Scott Metzel and his wife Kim of Wake Forest, NC, Ronald Metzel of Robbinsville and Pamela Zitani and her husband Patrick of Yardville; 12 grandchildren, Stephen and Taylor Shimko, Brandon, Skylar, Collin, Jensen, Nicole and Erin Metzel and Felicia, Jillian, Tyler and Vincent Zitani; a great granddaughter, Peyton Zitani; his sister, Barbara Stafirn; niece, April and his beloved dog Pepe.

A visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, June 23rd at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Allentown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice, 261 Connecticut Drive, Suite 1, Burlington, NJ 08016 or to the American Legion Post # 148, 895 US-130, East Windsor, NJ 08520 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
