Edward Eugene Hugo of New Egypt, New Jersey, died February 28, 2011 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills, New Jersey.  He was surrounded by family and friends.  Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he was a graduate of De Lasalle Military Academy and served in the United States Air Force.  He retired from General Motors Corporation, Trenton, New Jersey where he was a Union Benefits Representative.  Ed was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and motorcycle enthusiast.  He loved hiking with his dogs.  An animal lover, he opened his heart and home to many rescue cats and dogs throughout his lifetime.

He is survived by his wife, Johanna, uncle Sam McConnell of Kansas City, Missouri, sisters Karen Brash McGreer of Medford, New Jersey, Cheryl Hibdon of Raymore, Missouri, Vicki Motter of Lawrence, Kansas, Joyce Gaeta of Palm Desert, California and Dawn Stanley Estes of Sweeney, Texas.

Cremation is under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, New Jersey.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Contributions in his memory may be made to Associated Humane Society, P.O. Box 43, Forked River, New Jersey 08731-0043.
