Edward William Danitz Jr. passed away Friday, March 20, 2026 in Whiting, one week shy of his 92nd birthday. Born in New York, NY, he resided in Robbinsville for many years before retiring to Whiting. A state trooper for several years, Bill left the NJ State Police and started EW Danitz Inc, his masonry and construction business which he later ran with his son. He was a proud member of Hightstown Apollo Lodge #41 F&AM and loved to go fishing.

A relative of Admiral Karl Dönitz of the Germany Navy and creator of the Germany Wolfpacks; Bill was the son of the late Georgina and Edward W. Danitz, Sr. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Sandra Danitz, by his son, Richard Danitz, and by his twin brother, Larry Danitz. He is survived by his children, Stephen and MaryJo Danitz and Patricia and Richard Nurko; his grandchildren, Karl, Shawn, Kellie, Kyle, and Kasie; as well as great grandchildren.

Services will be private under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name to Hightstown Apollo Lodge #41 F&AM, 535 North Main St. Hightstown, NJ 08520.
